Yes.

But validators which are supporting schema rewriting will give different
results then ones which doesn't support it. Is it worth to break
compatibility?

We can make this feature optional and allow something like
rewriteSchema="no" to disable schema rewriting. But to maintain
interoperability validator which doesn't support schema rewriting should
 at least emit error message about unsupported feature when it is asked
to validate attribute section without explicit rewriteSchema="no".
