Should be "XML 1.0 is a profile of an ISO standard".

It is important to stress that the W3C has made no committment to
maintaing the SGML compatability for XML, nor the backwards compatability
of future versions. W3C is not in the business of making archiving standards,
it is a vendor-dominated consortium geared to negotiating solutions to immediate
problems (where "solution" includes a sales aspect, and where "sales" has a
history of obsoleting old technologies.)
