Something has to tie an instance to a sequence of validation rules if you
are to get long-term archivable validation. I am presuming there will be
some equivalent of a DOCTYPE statement that will say "This document should
be validated against this choreography". Somewhere the sources of the
validation rules have to be archivable and verifiable. To say "My documents
were validated against my rules when it suited me" is not acceptable to the
archiving community, who must be able to repeat the validation process at a
future time.
