[dsdl-discuss] Critique of W3C Datatypes

In Baltimore it was agreed that we needed to prepare a critique of the W3C
datatype spec before proceeding with Part 5. Rick and Eric have provided
some useful comments and pointers since then, but nothing much has been
heard from anyone else. As we are getting near to the May meeting, for which
I need to publish an agenda in the next week or so, I thought I better bring
together all the comments I have seen so far into a single document, which I
attach. These comments go right back to the first days of our discussions,
rather than just being based on recent comments, so you might find a few
that you do not agree with. Please feel free to comment on this draft asap:
I'd like to be able to issue a first up-date of it in a fortnight or so, in
time to provide a final text for discussion in London. If there are
insufficient comments, however, this document will be discussed in London on
May 4th.
