First, I would prpose to replace

Second, I think that the option "element root" deserves to be
explicitly mentioned.

My reasons are as below:

1) At present, subschemas have to use subtree-wildcards, when they
   want to specify place holders in their schemas. However, this
   option allows schema authors to use element-wildcards, instead.

2) The RELAX NG DTD compatibility spec makes it hard to use
   subtree-wildcards.
