Just in case you failed to notice it the following recommendation was passed
in Amsterdam:
"Noting that revised drafts for Parts 3, 4 and 7 of ISO 19575 were received
only days before the meeting, allowing insufficient time for national body
review and comment at this meeting, and that the submitted documents were
still incomplete, WG1 recommends that national bodies informally review
these draft documents electronically, getting any comments to editors before
20th May. Editors are instructed to prepare final versions of the documents
for ballot by 1st June so that documents may be formally reviewed by the 7th
September. WG1 will call a meeting to discuss submitted comments in
Cambridge, England on 18th - 20th September, in conjunction with the XMLOpen
conference being organized at the same location."
This recommendation has the following impact on you:
a) If you want a document you have not yet submitted (or any section of a
document that you have submitted no contents in the current draft) to be
considered by ballot prior to the special WG meeting that document/section
must be completed by the end of this week (Friday 30th April) so that it can
be submitted to WG members in sufficient time for electronic review by 20th
May.
b) You may only make such changes to submitted documents before balloting as
have been suggested by WG members during electronic review. Should you try
to complete incomplete sections during May and submit a document that
contains these for review the revised document will i) be resubmitted to WG
for review and ii) not be submitted to national bodies until this review is
complete (ie. three weeks after submission)
c) Once the comment period is over you have until 1st June to complete the
changes requested and submit a revised version of the document (without any
new sections) to me for production of a PDF. (I will try to give you 24hrs
to review this, but cannot promise that this will occur until the evening of
Saturday 5th June). The PDF will be forwarded to Ken Holman with the
appropriate electronic paperwork on Sunday 6th June and will be submitted to
JTC1 and national body members on 7th June, with a ballot cut-off date of
6th September. This will (just) give us one weekend to get the ballot
response document prepared before the special working group meeting on 18th
September.
Please note that there is NO leeway in this timetable. Failure on your part
to meet any of these deadlines will mean that your document will not be
submitted to national bodies for balloting before the meeting. The result of
this will be that your document will either be under embargo during the
Special Working Group meeting because you have requested it to go out for
balloting following its late submission or will be discussed as submitted
and be sent out to national bodies for balloting after the meeting. Fitting
in a special working group meeting and a ballot has been a very tight issue,
and requires your close cooperation if you wish to benefit from this attempt
to recover from the late delivery paradigm editors seem to have adopted. (If
this attempt fails there well be no future special working group meetings.)
