Starting to catch up on a few of the things I was unable to follow up last

Not sure how versioning could be implemented efficiently using <phase>.
Could you elaborate?

Are you thinking of the parameters becoming phase identifiers?

I was presuming so, but unless we have our own language for Part 10, I'm not
sure how we can do this using existing pipelining protocol (unless we
introduce something like a dsdl:version attribute)

First though, we've got to get Schematron on the standards wagon!
