Dear DSDLers

We are on the final stretch as far as DSRL is concerned. The attached FDIS
contains working examples of the extended new syntax and first drafts of the
XSLT needed to transform it. There are three outstanding technical issues,
and an editorial point, that need review:

1) We need a set of Schematron definitions to check the following:

If an element map has default content then the following rules must apply:

   a) There must be a dsrl:within element (at the same level as the
dsrl:default-content element), whose contents must not end with a /
   b) There must be another element map which has either a first level child
dsrl:from or dsrl:name element whose contents match the value assigned to
the after attribute of the default content
   c) There must be another element map whose dsrl:within element (if
present) combined with the value assigned to the maps dsrl:from or dsrl:name
element is identical to the contents fo the dsrl:within element of the
element map containing the dsrl:default-content statement.

(Actually the rule about the dsrl:within not ending with a / needs to be
applied globally.)

As I am involved in working at my local museum this weekend I'd be grateful
if someone could let me know what form these rules should take before I
start working my way through Part 3 again!

2) The XSLT in the annex has not been optimized. I would be grateful for any
suggestions as to how it can be simplified.

3) There are still three questions about how much information should be
recordable in DSRL PI statements of what transfromation have taken place.
I'd be grateful for your thoughts on this before I start trying to add this
functionality to the XSLT.

On the editorial front I still need to check that all the normatively
referenced standards are still in the normative text, and that any standards
mentioned in the annex but not the normative text are listed in the
References section at the back. If you spot any other errors in the attached
text please let me know so that I can corrrect them before submitting this
draft to SC34 as the formal input to the editor's review meeting on 6th
August.

Martin
