[dsdl-discuss] Re: Synchronization of the OASIS RELAX NGCompactSyntax and the ISO/IEC19757-2 AMENDMENT 1: Compact Syntax

This issue is also scheduled to be brought up by the UK delegation at the
plenary. We need to understand what the rules are for corrections to,
extensions to and general bug reporting on PAS standards as these are
unclear to us. (After last week's IST/41 meeting we decided we needed furher
guidance on this issue from BSI.) We are under the impression that JTC1 is
responsible for issuing technical corrigenda, and for the formal 5 year
review mechanism, but we are not clear what happens if subsequent extensions
are requested. Whether or not JTC1 delegates this responsibility to SC34,
and SC34 delegates it to WG1 is not clear. Does there need to be some formal
statement of responsibility for corrigenda? Perhaps we should be asking ISO
for clarification on what the procedures should be in the case of corrigenda
identified by national bodies while producing translations of PAS
submissions.
