Re: [dsdl-discuss] Re: Synchronization of theOASIS RELAXNGCompactSyntax and the ISO/IEC19757-2 AMENDMENT1: Compact Syntax

I wonder whether there is a need to have separate mechanisms for
translation corrigenda and other maintenance issues?

For example, to get a kind of reverse fast-track process by which issues
relating to unclear sentences and technical inconsistencies, but strictly
excluding addenda, general wordsmithing or anything that might require
implementations to be altered, can be dealt with. They agree to adopt our
corrections, strictly limited in scope, by default, to allow the standards
to keep in synch.

Addenda have to be a longer-cycle process than corrigenda.

The same issue would presumably come up with Ecma as well as OASIS specs.

Does anyone know if Korea or China has the same kind of issue wrt their
translation procedures? It seems an important issue.

Do JIS standards have any kind of "translators note" in which text needing
correction can be noted? That might be appropriate in the case of the
fast-track standards, in order to have any timeliness, perhaps?
