Part 4 already uses a simple subset of XPath. It is "a list of one or
more choices separated by |, where each choice is a list of one or more
NCName tokens separated by /, optionally preceded by /".
This subset is streamable. If there are no strong reasons, I think
we should adopt the same subset. We certainly have to allow QName tokens
rather than NCName tokens.. As you correctly point out, filed/@path
needs text() (or ".") as well.
